The story so farPre-launch
It started with a list of complaints.
Before we designed anything, we read what people complain about in silk pillowcases and eye masks. The complaint we found most often about eye masks is that they shift or dig in when you sleep on your side. Each product here is built around one complaint like that.
We make them for someone who already owns the bedding and wants one upgrade with a reason they can check. So we print the number behind each claim, and where we don't have the number yet, we say so.
We picked the name because it is easy to say. It has no meaning to explain, and it doesn't tie us to one product.
Nothing is for sale yet. We have washed two pillowcase samples; there is no eye mask sample yet, so its measurements are design targets. Before we order stock, we want to know whether enough people will leave an email for these. Each product page has a launch list sign-up where the checkout will go.

Two things touch your face all night.
A pillowcase and an eye mask, and each has one weak point. On a silk pillowcase it is the zip: it keeps the pillow in, and it goes through every wash. On an eye mask it is the shape. A flat mask assumes you sleep on your back.
So there is one of each, and a third product that is the two together for $16 less than buying them apart. A fourth product would need a fourth weak point worth fixing, and we have not found one yet.
How materials are chosenBy the number first
22 momme, about 95 g/m².
Silk is sold by weight, in momme. Ours is 22 momme, about 95 grams per square metre. Close the zip and use the mesh bag. Wash cold or lukewarm, up to 30 C (86 F), on a delicate cycle or by hand, with a delicate, enzyme-free detergent. No bleach, no softener. Dry flat or hang, out of direct sun. No dryer, no iron. We weigh a sample from every lot and post the result, pass or fail.
Then the weak point. The pillowcase closes with a hidden zip. The eye mask is designed as a soft contour with thin sides for side sleepers, with the weight on the brow and cheekbones and none over the eyes. Design target; no sample yet.

Renvalle is run by Alden Ridge Group LLC in Clarksville, Tennessee. Our silk pillowcase is made in China.
US law asks textile listings to say where they were made and what they are made of. Both are on every product page. The eye mask has no sample yet, so where it is made is not settled.
